Our New Obsession

New York Mag has finally made itself useful and has created this dream made reality: a catalogue of every outfit Mrs. Obama has worn out in public -- updated regularly to boot. AnA will surely be studying this daily to learn how to properly dress like a powerful but chic woman of the world once we've all married money and are called upon to organize liquid brunches and charity dinners.

Dolly always a fan of an Empire waist, might go for this charming Narciso Rodriguez, while out shopping for her latest pair of glittery ballet flats.

Ms. Streisand, always a fan of a statement jacket, might choose this little number with a subtle Givenchy belt to take the kids to their Hebrew lessons.

Meanwhile, yours truly, might be smoking up on a fatty on the way for a day at the spa with my little one in this charming Moschino sundress.

Thanks, Chelly. You're a true inspiration for aspirational ladies everywhere.

Bobbin'--No--Weavin'

Cuz it's all natural.

Short, saucy summer styling by the Fierce Lady. Mrs. O brought out the new bob for a country concert at the White House. Who says black folks don't like the honky tonk? Hell give me some Sugarland or that divine Allison Kraus any day of the week.

How great is this look, though? It's fresh, it's classic, it's young, but not trying too hard. The country might be going down the pooper, but at least we can revel in a well-timed and well-trimmed bob.

Cryptkeeping Akimbo

Our Lady Obama resuscitates Nancy Regan for a special White House luncheon while wearing a Gap striped shirt, a Gap floral cardigan, and a white Michael Kors skirt.

Stripes under florals is a bold way to mix prints for a First Lady, and it works because the colors match and doesn't look stodgy. We don't really like the cardigan nor the shirt much on their own, but together it creates a nice graphic look.

Checkin' In Akimbo

Hi Michelle! Hope you liked the Mother's Day basket we sent you. But who doesn't love chocolate rum balls? Anyway, you've been looking AMAZING lately! Here you are traipsing across your lawn in silver flats and a yellow floral cardigan by Liz Claiborne. Loving the baby daddy.

You looked superb at that MET ribbon cutting the other day in that whimsical purple get-up by AnA's newest resurrected godfather Isaac Mizrahi.

That corset! That impossibly appropriate hair! You cinched your Michael Kors with a laced-up Peter Soronen. Immaculately sleek, so well done.

Our favorite First Lady Look? The Azzedine you broke out to give a speech/steal the Kennedy thunder. It's a modernized black, you carry so well a modified Puritan collar, and AnA wouldn't be surprised if you whipped out a laser gun!

And check out those guns! Squeeze the spotlight out of her!

Michelle Akimb-O

LinkMichelle Obama mania continues to spread like Ms. Streisand's legs near an open bar. Here we have Elie Tahari's Michelle dress, a one-shoulder, boldly printed homage to the Fierce Lady. This is not new territory for the designer, but he hopes slapping on the Obama name will help sales and maybe even incite the lady herself to don the frock. What do we think, gals? A pair of black leggings and a ballet flat? Nude leg and a tranny heel? Or would you avoid the look all together?

Obama Tour Akimbo

You've been following Michelle Obama trail blaze through Europe, right? Amid the landmark first meetings with heads of state and NATO briefings, Michelle has donned an astounding array of feminine shapes. Paris: upstaging Carla Bruni in her quick-change of dueling Thakoon numbers. First, a lovely dress with black-accented 3/4 length sleeves and then a black coat adorned with pinkish flowers. Michelle popped more than First Lady Bruni, who looked surprisingly drab.

Hamming it up via the Brits; a stunning Isabel Toledo combo that she accessorized with a well chosen necklace.

Prague. A good way to warm up a Czech winter: a giant white bow.

Then la pièce de la résistance: a GORGEOUS black Azzedine Alaïa that, after a big reveal from under a black satin opera coat by Jason Wu, set German jaws dropping across the Rhineland. Elegant and classy, Michelle looks fresh and refreshingly young.

A supporter of American fashion, First Lady Obama has turned heads and raised some well-groomed eyebrows for donning Alaïa and other labels like Etro during her European tour. Bravo from the AnA camp for getting into the European groove!

Thank Heaven for Michelle

She may not be a former model and alleged singer like the fabulous Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, but at least Michelle O knows how to dress to emphasize her best assets, a lesson that Sarah Brown, wife of British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, would do well to learn.

Unfortunate. With all the trouble going on in London, you'd think that their first lady would step up to the fashion plate.

Oh Hide (and Seek with Naomi)

Hey! Back here. Keep going. The very back, assholes. No, not that cow, the flawless black and Chinese supermodel next to this Obama bitch. I demand a close-up! For the record, I do not appreciate being hidden away in a convenient corner like Tom Cruise's boytoy, i.e. Katie Holmes, while these dames and quote-unquote ladies hog my spotlight. I'm best friends with Nelson goddamn Mandela!...I dated Usher. I deserve more than peeking out over Michele Obama's bony shoulder. You smell divine, by the way dear. Is that jungle gardenia? Do you want to make out after this? I'll take your silence as a maybe. Hey, photog, hust hurry up and snap the damn picture already, I've got a non-eating lunch date with Victoria Beckham and if I'm late she'll go mad and devour a Saltine. It's really quite unattractive. Not as unattractve as these broads, but I digress. Cheese!
