Times Akimbo // Boo-boos?

A few posts here on Armed and Akimbo discussing the mediocrity of The New York Times' style section have now inspired a semi-regular column on the subject hereby titled 'Times Akimbo.'

Today the ever-relevant 'Thursday Styles' graces the world with a story on bandages and their aesthetic appeal.

This is a picture from the story. A bunch of key interviews are included in the piece, including from one stylish guy who coordinates his band-aids 'with his Kris Van Assche sweater or his Balenciaga bag.'

And people have to compete for writing jobs at this paper? This is their level of in-depth reporting? The only important fashion writing from the Times belongs to Cathy Horn if they keep churning out uninspired and uninspiring crap like this.

Anyways, as per usual, the article is unironically behind-the-Times; here's a 2005 Italian Vogue editorial on the haute appeal of bandage and gauze.
Keep up the good work guys! Can't wait to read a story about that hip new look called 'skinny jeans!' I also have heard a lot about this cool new store call 'H&M!' Break that one before the Post scoops you!
