Comparisons Akimbo // Tossin Tulle
Here is a page from a story shot by Camilla Akrans in the latest Chinese Vogue. Banged girl Anna Selezneva tosses her skirts up like no ones business against an early evening sun.
Her arm extension and expression evokes in AnA's opinion the Gucci Flora fragrance advertisement. Shot by Inez and Vinoodh, the image of Abbey Lee throwing up her boho gown is fun and summery and involves lots of arm. Too bad she probably smells like crap!

You ARE Worth It Akimbo ... Chinese.
With April showers comes the May Chinese Vogue, which serves up an editorial of Du Juan with her mouth open on EVERY page. AnA adores a red lip, parted gently, a cropped cut arranged messily, flashes of unexpected vermillion. It makes us remember those hazy nights at the Cubby Hole!

Greekasia Akimbo // 'Dresses of Time'
The love affair with Asian editorial continues here with the latest Chinese Vogue and a spread shot by Daniel Jackson and styled by Joanna Schlenzka. Grecian style gowns and 40s inspired styling sans heels create a smoky, backroom glamour. One of our favorite looks: a glittery pailletted Chado Ralph Rucci paired with a black veil.

Chinese Vogue // Olivia Newton-Du Juan
Here is a nice editorial from Chinese Vogue, a great compliment to the Conde Nast family. Great photographers and stylists in addition to the punch of using fabulously diverse models (like former Miss China, Du Juan) make this magazine the one that we want:

Look at Du Juan standing around in some carefully styled natural lighting in what reminds me of the location of that car chase in Grease:

Both the movie and the spread have in common clothes with pumped shoulders, tight pants, exaggerated shapes with emphasis on the hip, and lots of black. Coincidence?
Judging by the high level of "Fierce" in both, I'd say not.
